Here at Somerset Intermediate School, home of the Dragons, students from the district’s three elementary schools come together for a truly unique fifth and sixth grade learning experience.  Our school is committed to preparing our students with the understanding and skills necessary to grow and find success intellectually, artistically, socially and emotionally.  Our rigorous curriculum provides challenging opportunities and experiences essential not only for the transition into the middle school and high school grades, but also for life-long achievement and success.  

All grade 5 students will follow a semi-self-contained schedule for Math, Social Studies/Science  and Language Arts.  While all grade 6 students will be provided an integrated curriculum similar to a 7-12 school experience.  All students will receive instruction in Physical Education/Health, Library Skills, Art, Music, World Languages and Computer Science.  

The Administration and faculty believe in educating the whole child, therefore, students at Somerset Intermediate School are encouraged to extend their learning experiences with a variety of extracurricular social, academic, and special interest clubs. 

At Somerset Intermediate School, we expect all of our Dragons to follow the School of Character code, better known as C.A.R.D.  (Caring, Appreciation, Respect, Determination).  We take pride in coming together as an entire school family to celebrate our students’ successes.  Together, with the help of our student run Student Council, we are making Somerset Intermediate School a place where students come first.
